A lot of our societal ills stem from the total devaluing of life that emerged when a new American Value materialized in 1973 and took its place alongside other American values of greed, materialism, and the "self," i.e., the constitutionally protected "legal right" to murder a baby in the womb. Whatever a societal conscience is made up of, this step we took almost guaranteed the moral cesspool where we are today. When "murder" is legal and protected by the government created by the U.S. Constitution, :
Why shouldn’t pedophilia be protected by government?
Why shouldn’t multi-gender lifestyles be protected by government, no matter the age?
Why shouldn’t men competing with women in women’s sports be protected by government?
Why shouldn’t men using the same restrooms as women and girls be protected by government?
Why shouldn’t no-fault divorce be protected by government?
Why shouldn’t the "hookup culture" and its consequences be protected by government?
Oh, wait, all of this is being protect now! And much, much more!
What exactly are the restraints on this society? Answer: none, and we're living this nightmare now. Let's be honest: when a culture embraces legal and constitutionally protected murder, there is no depth of darkness that culture won't plumb.
When we can look at the most innocent person on the earth and embrace its tortuous murder for the sake of convenience and choice, ask yourself this: why should that society that county continue to exist? Morally, what is redeeming about that society, that country?
Answer: NOTHING!
As a Christian myself it is impossible for me to understand how a fellow Christian could pledge their allegiance, defend it or sing the lyrics "God bless America, land that I love, stand beside her and guide her...?" It is contradictory to claim that a country is favored by God while whimsically allowing the natural right to life of a baby to be snuffed out through abortion. So if you are a Christina, do not tarnish God's reputation by linking Him to this culture or this country - cease your actions and repent.
Some will say: "But Mark, I'm pro-life and voted pro-life my whole life and donated money to the cause! How dare you blame me!!!"
Well, you are almost more guilty. You knew what was wrong and settled for a constitutional process to end the constitutional right to abortion, taking 50 years and 65,000,000 murdered image-bearers. But you soothed your conscience as I did, didn't you? But God through the writer of Proverbs will not let you off the hook:
Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?
Proverbs 24:11,12
This verse indicts every Christian that waited on constitutional processes played out. Me included.
Imagine if all of the millions and millions of Evangelicals and Catholics had united and organized against this great evil and called for the complete abolition of government because any government that could legitimize the legal right to murder did not deserve to exist; imagine how much more moral that would be, how much more God-honoring that would have been. Rather than the tepid response from these two groups of "We're going to march to show how sad we are about babies being murdered!! And... we'll vote and pray that the Supreme Court overturns Roe!"
65,000,000 murdered babies while we waited.
65,000,000 murdered babies while we waited.
65,000,000 murdered babies while we waited.
65,000,000 murdered babies while we waited.
Martin Luther King Jr., nailed it in his famous Letter from a Birmingham Jail when he penned:
First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.
Christians, adopting a constitutional process timetable must now account for the murder of 65,000,000 babies while theses stupid constitutional processes played out. We Christians have blood on our hands and only repentance can cleanse our hands.
I repented for my part.
Will you?
Well. I'm an abolitionist and firmly believe that it started with chemical abortion with the pill. Pharma abortion must be ended and women must be held accountable as well. Only the death penalty for these murders.
